Arguably, one of the biggest up-and-coming names in hip-hop, Megan Thee Stallion made her UK debut on 1 July at one of Hackney's most popular nightspots, XOYO.
Born Megan Pete in 1995, the Texan's rise to fame is an enchanting American rags-to-riches tale. She juggles life as a university student while working to become one of the most talked-about rappers this year.
The Houston star thrilled 1,000 people over two sold-out nights at the Shoreditch venue and validated her viral status.
London-born and internationally raised DJ and presenter, Siobhan Bell - a regular on online platforms Boiler Room and NTS - hosted the night.
She gave the excited crowd an early-evening boost of energy and justified her slot by putting together a set peppered with hits from Megan Thee Stallion, Hackney star Stefflon Don, Cardi B, City Girls and more.
Megan entered the stage to her smash hit 'Realer', she was then joined by her dancers, both originally from California. Cayla-D'ana stated how happy she was to join Megan on her first European tour.
It took no time for the rapper to flex her curvaceous figure for the ecstatic crowd. She turned things up a notch by giving fans the twerk show they deserved as she proceeded to invite lucky fans from the crowd to join her on stage while she performed twerk-anthem 'Simon Says'.
Shannon James, 20 from Hackney was one of the lucky fans to share the stage with the star, said: "Megan Thee Stallion is my favourite rapper I am so thrilled her first-ever show in the UK is in my hometown, Hackney!"
Megan records herself on a lucky fans phone at XOYO, Shoreditch.
Megan powered through her hits, including 'Cash Sh*t', and 'Big Ole Freak' putting effort into an hour-long set. She allowed the crowd's vibe to fuel her performance, as it was an intimate gig she was able to interact with fans who would give her their phone so she could record herself performing.
Before she left the stage she encouraged the crowd to chant 'Real Hot Girl' and 'Hot Girl Summer' which are the quotes she is known for and probably the most used Instagram captions of the season.
Megan Thee Stallion alongside other well-known stars such as Young Thug, Fetty Wap and Migos are signed to 300 Entertainment.
Label CEO Kevin Liles who was also in attendance, said: "XOYO was the perfect venue to have Megan's first show in London as we know her fans would appreciate the intimate vibe."
Megan finished her European tour with a performance at Wireless Festival, Finsbury Park on 7 July.
