Trew Era Café
Trew Era Café in Hoxton was originally set up as a social enterprise by comic and political activist Russell Brand and is staffed by people in 'abstinence-based recovery'.
It is an organic, vegetarian café, using locally sourced ingredients, with a menu that focuses on healthy and ethical breakfast, lunch and coffee options.
In 2016, Brand donated the cafe to The Rehabilitation for Addicted Prisoners Trust (RAPT), and the charity's London Recovery Hub is located next door.
The enterprise continues to offer employment and enterprise activities for ex-offenders and recovering addicts, as well as some tasty food and drink.
