The Boxing Academy is an award-winning charity with a mission to change the lives of young people, aged 14 to 16, in danger of educational exclusion.
Founded in 2006, the Academy provides an alternative to mainstream schooling. It combines basic education and mentoring with the discipline and culture of boxing and other sports to re-engage the most 'hard to reach' young people.
Students can study for GCSEs or equivalent and a boxing coaching course. They have access to independent advice and guidance and staff can cater for many different SEN and behavioural needs including ADHD.
In 2017, the Boxing Academy won the Times Education Supplement award for best alternative provision school of the year.
