This Shoreditch pub is famous for its appearance in the nursery rhyme: 'Up and down the City Road, in and out of The Eagle. That's the way the money goes. Pop goes the weasel...'
Originally a famous music hall in the 1880s, the Eagle is now popular with a mixed, after work crowd in the week, which spills out onto the pavement in the summer, as well as with clubbers meeting for a warm-up drink before heading into the night time melee around Old Street at the weekends.
It serves food and has a more local crowd and chilled out atmosphere on Sundays.
