The Geffrye is the UK's only museum to specialise in the history of interior design and domestic life.
Housed in impressive 18th century almshouses on Kingsland Road, visitors get a sense of the changing style of English homes by viewing a series of meticulously curated rooms spanning 400 years, from 1600 to the present day.
It's a big source of inspiration for fashion and design students, and is also home to a pleasant café and walled herb garden, featuring seasonal displays of flowers and herbs that have traditionally been cultivated through the ages.
The museum runs an award-winning programme of activities including exhibitions, craft workshops, study days, talks and creative projects for schools, students, older people, community groups and visitors with additional needs.
Admission to the museum and garden is free.
