Paper Dress Vintage
Vintage boutique/cafe by day, bar/music venue by night Paper Dress is a unique space in Hackney Central.
It started life as a dress shop in Shoreditch in 2007 but, after a few emergency parties to help pay the rent - including one when Adam Ant turned up and performed on the shop window stage - they started to do it full time.
Relocating after seven years, they set up shop in Hackney Central across two floors with an intimate live music room which has hosted some big names, as well as birthday parties for Bat For Lashes, Keira Knightley and other celebs.
During the day, it sells a range of carefully curated vintage clothing from the 1920s to 1980s; alongside coffee, cakes, pastries and freshly made juices. There is a downstairs seating area plus a larger cafe area upstairs and small garden/smoking area.
In the evening, the bar serves a variety of rotating craft beers from local breweries, wine and cocktails; and there's a varied programme of arts, live music and events with past performers ranging from The Fat White Family to Telegram.
